Anna Symington
Anna Symington moved to St John’s after completing her pupilage in October 2003. She specialises in personal injury work.
“St John’s appealed to me because it allowed me to specialise in my preferred area of law from the outset.
“I’d only been to Bristol once before and knew no one there, so it was quite a big step, but as soon as I started I knew I’d made the right decision.
“I was paying less rent for a flat than I would have in London (for a nicer place) and I was able to walk to work, which basically gained me two hours a day that I used to spend commuting.
“My practice also flourished and I found myself doing more senior work much faster than I would have, had I remained in London.
“I now live in Devon and take advantage of Chambers’ technology to work from home several days a week. Faxes arrive directly into my email inbox and calls are transferred to my mobile without anyone realising.
I’ve a hot desk so I pay less rent too and I’ve set up a DX box nearby. I pop into Chambers to see everyone a couple of times a week.
“Moving to St John’s was the best career and lifestyle move I could have made. I recommend it!” Tenant’s CV
