Pupillage

The present policy of Chambers is to offer two funded pupillages per year to exceptional candidates with impressive academic qualifications as well as a demonstrated commitment to a career at the Bar.

The usual minimum degree requirement is a 2:1 and applications are invited from those with non-law degrees in addition to those with qualifying law degrees. Overall Chambers is looking for intelligent and bright pupils with an ability to analyse information quickly and to present argument succinctly and with persuasion.

The main practice groups in Chambers are Commercial and Chancery, Family, Personal Injury and Public and Administrative Law. Pupils are offered a broad range of experience within our practice groups but should a Pupil wish to specialise in a particular area of practice then Chambers will try to accommodate this if possible.

Within the first six months of pupillage Pupils will be required to focus on drafting and preparing paperwork. They will learn crucial research skills to equip them for the second six months of pupillage when it is likely that they will be managing their own busy caseload.

Chambers offers a Pupillage award of £24,000 which is usually paid monthly in instalments of £2,000.
