The services and support offered by Chambers is extremely comprehensive. All of the following are included in your membership contributions.

Accommodation

We are based in our newly refurbished, modern offices in Central Bristol. These are close to the city’s waterside areas and convenient for major road and rail links.

Air conditioned throughout, the offices offer comfortable work space, along with ample meeting rooms, communal areas, a spacious reception area and a theatre style seminar room for up to 80 people.

Most Barristers work in open plan “pods” that are ergonomically designed to aid productivity and effective work practices.

There are also “hot desk” areas where Barristers with certain types of practice may prefer the option of not having a fixed work space

Whichever option you choose, the environment is planned to enable you to work quietly and effectively

We’ve invested heavily in technology too, installing wi fi broadband access throughout, as well as AV systems in each meeting room. Video conferencing is also installed.

All of this makes St John’s chambers a superb place to work and to meet with clients.

Business Support

Comprehensive business support includes dedicated clerking teams to manage your diary and fee negotiation & collection for each practice area; and of course to provide full secretarial support.

We have an efficient office administration process too, so you can concentrate on developing your practice.

Marketing and Business Development

We have an energetic client development programme to promote the collective capabilities of St John’s Chambers. Led by our Chief Executive, this targets each market separately, always playing to our strengths.

Much of our effort revolves around sales presentations, seminars and proactive client visits and we always support our members individually in their personal business development activity.

Naturally our close partnerships with leading regional and national law firms gives us something of an advantage in developing business…

Library resources

In addition to maintaining a comprehensive “paper” library we subscribe to a wide range of on-line resources, including Lexis Nexis and Justis.

Continuous Professional Development

To help members stay current with the latest developments each of our practice groups runs regular internal update sessions

Furthermore our more senior members are active in coaching those with less experience – and there’s a co-operative atmosphere in which people share knowledge with their peers.

This, in essence, is the great advantage of St John’s membership. You will be part of an extremely talented and supportive set.
